Jeter’s final game at Yankee Stadium

With the game tied 2-2 and the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh inning, Derek Jeter came to the plate for what could be his final at-bat in pinstripes.
Orioles manager Buck Showalter countered by bringing in right-hander Ryan Webb to face Jeter and got the future Hall-of-Famer to hit a ground ball to shortstop J.J. Hardy. However, two-time Gold Glove winner botched the throw to second, allowing Jeter to reach while Ichiro Suzuki and Jose Pirela came in to score.
While it’s likely not the result Jeter wanted, the 40-year-old was still credited with an RBI as the Yankees took a 4-2 lead. New York would tack on another run in the inning to lead 5-2 heading into the eighth.
Jeter is 1-for-4 with a pair of RBI, a strikeout and a run scored on the night.
